Introducing Project TOP-SET *ALP
(Transition of Paraprofessionals to
Special Education Teachers through
Alternative Licensure Program)
 Project TOP-SET*ALP is a program that offers in-service
paraprofessionals an opportunity to become Special Education
teachers in 12-18 months through an alternative teacher
licensure program.
Program benefits include:
- Scholarship monies for tuition, alternative program fees and
conference attendance
- Classroom teaching experience
- Mentoring provided by master teachers
- Individualized advisement and support prior to, during and after
the completion of the alternative licensure program
- Coursework delivered through weekend school site-based
immersions and web-based instruction
Graduate level credits through the University of Colorado at
Denver and the Health Sciences Center
